Kublai Khan and Conquest
In warfare, Kublai Khan is best known for his conquest of the Song remnants throughout southern China. The era of Mongol invasions of the West were in the past. Kublai focused on China and uniting it under his rule. He spent much time invading and attempting to conquer Japan, Vietnam, Burma, and Java. even though he had some success, like adding areas of Thailand to his empire, these excursions became extremely costly in the form of finances and other resources. He lost an entire fleet at one point. These wars helped to destroy his limited support from many of the Mongol lords.
